A graveside funeral service for Barbara Ann Hoare, 81, of Wicomico, was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Williamsburg Memorial Park. She died April 18, 2015.

She was born to the late Henry and Anna Sterkel on March 16, 1934 in Boulder, Colo. She was a retired postal worker. Her career also included being a drug and alcohol counselor for Riverside Regional Medical Center. 

She was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert Henry Sterkel.

Survivors include her children, Mary Kathleen Stern, Thomas H. O’Hara, Joseph M. Hoare, David J. Hoare, Dennis J. Hoare and Kevin G. O’Hara; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The Rev. Arthur Wolz conducted the service.
