Barbara Ann Harris, 78, of Gloucester, went home to live with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 14, 2016.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Frank O. and Mary Coates Robins; brothers, Earl Robins Sr. and Marvin Robins; sisters, Margaret Marshall and Charlotte Robins.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Marvin C. Harris; daughters, Tammy Smith (Craig), Deborah Scheidegger (Alan), and Sonya Burchett (Brian); grandchildren, Joshua, Allison, and Rebekah Scheidegger and Ashley and Chad Burchett; brothers, Robert Robins (Gloria) and Allen Robins (Laurel); sister-in-law, Phyllis Robins, and many nieces and nephews.
Barbara was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who devoted herself to her family. Her gentle spirit blessed everyone who knew her. She lived her life to glorify God and share His love. She nurtured many children throughout her life, caring for them in her home and in the church. She was a member of Petsworth Baptist Church where she enjoyed fellowship with her loving church family. She also held a special place in her heart for her brothers and sisters at Newington Baptist Church.
The family received friends at Petsworth Baptist Church Tuesday, July 19, 2016 beginning at 11 a.m. A celebration of life service conducted by the Rev. John Pouchot followed at noon with interment immediately following in Newington Baptist Church Cemetery.
