The Marching Blue Devils had a busy weekend, beginning Friday night with a performance on Ken Brown Field at Mathews High School with alumni joining in with current band members. Here, Emily Lewis (Class of ’22), Brayden Barr (’23), MHS freshman Hunter Owens and Desmond Smith (’99) perform as part of the band’s brass section. The band also recognized its three graduating seniors on Friday night: Calvin Burton, Zoe Camp and Madeline Miller. On Saturday, the MHS band wrapped up its field show season with a third-place finish among Class A schools at the Kecoughtan Warrior Classic. The band also scored higher than two of the AA bands in that competition. MHS also placed second in Music and Percussion and third in Color Guard, Visual and General Effect.
