Balloon Boutique relocated from York County to White Marsh Shopping Center in early September.

Owner Eileen Davis said she has run the business for 11 years, the last four in York and previously in Gloucester.

The shop sells many types of balloons for multiple occasions. Davis is a balloon decorator who utilizes many latex, Mylar and stretching plastic balloons.

The balloons are filled with helium from a tank or with air from a compressor. “This is the happy place,” Davis said of people often choosing balloons instead of flowers. She has sold simple groups of a few balloons or filled orders as large as a big arch. “Balloons make the room smile,” she said, adding that balloon patterns are trendy right now.

Besides balloons, Davis sells fashion handbags and plans to add gift items next year.

 Her husband Marlon helps at the store part-time. He is a material handler at Lipton Tea in Suffolk.
