Auxiliarist of the Year

Ray Procopio of Mathews, a member of Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 66, was awarded Division 6 (Peninsula Area) Auxiliarist of the Year for 2020 on Feb. 11 at U.S. Coast Guard Station Milford Haven. The Division includes flotillas from Hampton, Deltaville, Poquoson, Gloucester, Mathews and Williamsburg. As a member of Flotilla 66, Procopio serves as an Operations Officer, Aids to Navigation Verifier, Instructor, Coxswain, Mentor and Watchstander. He works actively with Coast Guard Station Milford Haven to promote numerous areas of boating safety. He recently was named Auxiliarist of the Year for his flotilla, and he is now a candidate for that title for District 5SR Fifth–Southern.
