James (Bud) Merritt and his wife Kearra, recently opened their business Jaak’s Auto Sales and Repairs at 3736 George Washington Memorial Highway, Ordinary. This family-owned-and-operated business was previously owned by his father, James Merritt, who ran 3 Guys Auto. He retired after over 20 years in the business in December 2022.
“This has always been my goal, to have my own place (shop),” said James.
James is an ASE Master Technician, who also services vehicles for other dealerships within the county. He has been a technician since he attended Gloucester High School, where he graduated in 2001.
“I worked here at my dad’s place (3 Guys Auto) when this was his way back then,” said James.
After working for his father for several years, James left to work as a Chrysler technician at a dealership and gained even more experience in the industry. He worked there from 2008 to 2013, where he became factory-trained.
“I have been a very successful technician my whole life,” said James.
