AUDREY LEE BROWN LEMON

Audrey Lee Brown Lemon entered eternal rest and peace on Dec. 18, 2014 at the family home located on Brown Family Lane in Gloucester, Va.

She was born in Gloucester on Sept. 13, 1950 to the late Dorothy Jane Brown and Robert Lee Brown. Audrey accepted Christ as her personal savior and became a member of the First Baptist Church, Ordinary.  Audrey was an active member of the Usher Ministry for 23 years.

Audrey was united in Holy Matrimony on Sept. 7, 1975 to Carl Thomas Lemon. Unto this union, they were blessed with three wonderful sons.  Audrey worked with the Gloucester County School System for many years beginning in the early 1970s. She was also employed with Peebles Department Store.  

Audrey leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her precious memories, her loving and devoted husband, Carl; three sons, SFC (ret.) Derrick A. Lemon (Sara) of Gloucester, Carl M. Lemon of Maryland, and Ryan T. Lemon of Gloucester; six grandchildren,  SPC Derrick T. Lemon, Pvt. Detrick Lemon, Brittany (Chris), AnnaBelle, Xavier and Elijah; one great-grandchild, Jazalene; three sisters, Myrna Brown Granger (Roger) of Hampton, Va., Velda  R. Brown (caregiver) of Gloucester, and Minister Marcine Brown Spencer (James Jr.) of Newport News Va.; six brothers, Willie R. Brown (Roseanne) of Gloucester, Robert C. Brown (Carolyn) of Gloucester,  Lt. (ret.) Herman T. Brown (Cheryl) of Palmdale, Cal., William S. Brown (Valorie) of Gloucester, DoD Corporal Police Officer John M. Brown of Gloucester, State Police 1st Sgt. Lawrence W. Brown (Tisha) of Virginia Beach, Va. 

Audrey loved and enjoyed the Lemon family who also supported her to the end.  She has seven sisters-in-law, namely, Pauline (Wendell), Augustine (Roger), Priscilla, Carolyn, Shirley, Ethel and Mildred and her four brothers-in-law, namely, Henry (Janice), Clifton (Annette), Robert (Georgia) and Douglas.

Audrey was a loving wife and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend. 

She had a devoted, loyal, true, kind and loving friend who stood by her until the end, who is none other than Michaelene Randall.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014, at 1 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church, 3501 Providence Road, Hayes, Va. 23072.
