At least $6,000 raised at Peace Frogs Bank to Bank Swim

Nine swimmers took to the York River on Saturday, May 19, all for a good cause—the 14th annual Peace Frogs Bank to Bank Swim.

Participants swam 3.1 miles alongside Peace Frogs owner Catesby Jones from Felgates Creek in Yorktown to Jones’ home on the Gloucester side of the York River. 

Jones said that he expects at least $6,000 was raised, though he did not have an exact figure at the time. The final donation will come from the fundraiser itself and the Peace Frogs Bank to Bank Fund.

The fund, according to Jones, was established to “benefit children of Tidewater Virginia” and each year a different charity is selected as a beneficiary of the donation.

This year funds will benefit Rural Infant Services Program, which aids children ages 0-3 who are living with developmental disorders or conditions.
