Assistant principal named for GHS

Stefan Mygas was named an assistant principal at Gloucester High School and Rhonda Taylor was named a gifted resource teacher in personnel actions taken by the Gloucester County School Board during its Sept. 10 meeting.

Mygas was previously a secondary math coach for the school division and Taylor was a fifth grade teacher at Achilles Elementary. Matthew Payne of Alexandria was appointed to replace Taylor at Achilles. 

In other appointments, Jessica Duren of Hampton was named the Executive Director of Human Resources and Compliance for the school division. She was previously with Portsmouth Public Schools. 

Named as division-wide mentors for the 2019-2020 school year were Linda Baumler of Newport News, Allen Fulford and Anne Markwith of Gloucester Point, Ronda Quinn of Hayes and Carolyn Smith of Hayes. 

Appointed to support services positions were Christina Berezansky and Timothy Carter of Hayes and Nichole Germain, Kristen LeDuc and Tammie DeMarco-Brown.
