Arts on Main will resume in-person “Crit Sessions” on Tuesday, June 1, from 10 a.m. to noon. The gallery is located at 6580 Main Street, Gloucester.
Free monthly critique sessions allow artists of all levels to join together for discussion, support, camaraderie and learning, according to a press release. Each artist should bring a piece of their own art for critique.
Originally organized by Kathy Klein of Kathy Klein Studio, and Kay Van Dyke, founder of Arts on Main, the sessions have developed regulars who attend from all over Gloucester and Mathews, and even from as far away as Charlottesville, said Van Dyke in the release. “We help each other improve,” she added.
“Are you stuck in the middle of a painting?” said Klein. “Would fresh eyes help? Do you want to learn more about composition or color balancing? Then these supportive discussions are for you.”
