Artists invited to enter Bay School show

The Bay School Community Arts Center has issued a call for artists for the Art Speaks seventh annual Juried Exhibition. The show will open April 27 with a reception and will run through May 27.

Prizes will total $5,000, with $1,500 awarded for Best in Show, said a press release. The show is open to all Virginia artists and includes both 2-D and 3-D media. The early-bird deadline for entries is Feb. 1. The final entry deadline is March 1.

Janly Jaggard will be the show’s judge and juror. A native of England, Jaggard moved to Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley in the early ’90s, and has been a practicing artist, painting in oil and acrylic as well as working with vitreous enamel and clay. She has taught classes in both 2D and 3D media, working with all age groups and levels of experience. In addition to her classes, Jaggard established an enameling program and has been a vibrant member of the art community in the Staunton area, serving as judge for several art exhibitions. ...
