An opening reception for the Bay School Community Arts Center’s 2024 Art Speaks Juried Exhibition will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, in the Art Speaks Gallery at 279 Main Street, Mathews. The public is invited to attend.
The show will feature 68 Virginia artists and will run from April 27 through May 27. Bay School members and sponsors will have the opportunity to preview the entries on Friday, April 26.
The juror and judge for the show is Joe Gyurcsak, a nationally known plein air painter and the resident artist for Blick/Utrecht Art Materials. He has selected 76 two- and three-dimensional pieces to be featured in the show, out of 365 entries submitted. As judge, he will award cash prizes totaling $6,350 to artists during the reception for their 18 winning pieces.
