Arson suspect arrested in connection with Holly Beach house fire

The Gloucester Sheriff’s Office reported Saturday that it arrested a King and Queen man in connection with a residential structure fire in the Holly Beach neighborhood last month.

The GSO and Gloucester Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the 12300 block of Beech Trail on Jan. 19 in reference to a structure fire. The homeowners were not home, but two dogs and a cat that were inside the house perished.

After assessing the scene, the GSO said it called in arson specialists from the Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation to assist and it was determined that the fire was intentionally set.

The GSO said its investigators ultimately identified the suspect as 23-year-old Ta’Kuan Keontay Bingham of King and Queen, a former resident of the Holly Beach home.
