Arneta Brown Howlett, 91, of Smithfield passed away Nov. 14, 2018 at Bayside of Poquoson.

Arneta was born Dec. 12, 1926 to John Luther Brown and Emily Jane Callis Brown. She was very active at Locust Grove United Methodist Church for many years until the decline of her health. Arneta was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be missed dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Howlett, and her parents,

She is survived by her daughter, Jane H. Faulkner (David); son, Gerald W. Howlett; brother, Lloyd Brown (Mamye); seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A graveside funeral service, conducted by the Rev. Arthur Wolz, was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018, at Windsor Gardens Cemetery, Dutton, Va. The family received friends from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17 at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point.
