Architect to consider 3 sites for transportation, utilities yard

The Gloucester County School Board agreed Tuesday to accept $30,000 from the county for the design of a new facility that would jointly serve the county and school division’s transportation and storage needs and serve as a county utilities yard.

The board also agreed to accept a proposal from Hutson Architects and Associates for the design and related analysis work for the facility and to have the architect consider three potential sites in the design work. The facility is projected to cost about $600,000 to construct in fiscal year 2018. 

The sites to be considered include the former Page Middle School site on Route 17 where the school division’s transportation facility is now located, the 25 available acres at the new Page Middle School site, and 20 acres behind the T.C. Walker Education Center.
