‘Archaeology of Guinea’ topic of Friday’s talk

Archaeologist Thane Harpole, co-owner of DATA Investigations, Inc., is featured speaker Friday at Buck’s Store Museum in Bena.

Harpole, also co-director of The Fairfield Foundation, will discuss “The Archaeology of Guinea” at the Guinea Heritage Association’s Fourth Friday program.

He will discuss excavations at a Jenkins Neck site where a small Woodland period Native American village, early 17th century English settlement, and late 19th century occupation were found, a release said.

Excavating at the Jenkins Neck site was Harpole’s first archaeology project in Gloucester County while studying at the College of William and Mary.
