Applications due April 21 for school board vacancy

York District registered voters interested in the Gloucester County School Board seat being vacated by Carla Hook should submit a letter of interest to the board no later than Friday, April 21. 

Letters should be submitted to school board clerk Carol Dehoux at the T.C. Walker Education Center and should include a statement of qualifications and letters of support from registered York District voters. 

Applicants and up to two of their supporters will have the opportunity to address the board during its May 9 meeting. The board will interview candidates beginning at 5:30 p.m. on May 18 at the WalkerCenter. An appointment is anticipated that night.

The appointment will be for a term beginning June 16 and ending Dec. 31, 2017. The appointee will be asked to attend the June 13 school board meeting. A general election for the York seat will be held in November.  ...
