Antiques store moves to new location on Gloucester’s Main Street

Wisteria Lane Antiques & Collectibles opened March 5 at its new location on Main Street, Gloucester.

The shop is located in the building that housed a bank annex for many years, only a few doors away from its previous site. Karen and Robert Arey of Gloucester, own the business, which they ran four years at the other location.

They have crammed hundreds of items into a maze of rooms and hallways. Many of the items for sale are antiques (more than 100 years old) or vintage (over 50 years old), Karen Arey said.

Robert Arey said they have for sale some items he had never seen before, such as a chest from about 100 years ago where dough was placed so it could rise overnight. Shelves and walls are filled with glassware, china, furs, books (including a book by Longworth from 1883), racecar memorabilia, jewelry, paintings and artwork, outdoor statuary, old irons, and an assortment of antique furniture.
