Antioch seeks to honor its past, while looking to the future

“Honoring Our Past While Looking Forward To Our Future.”
That was theme for Saturday afternoon’s special Black History Month program at Antioch Baptist Church, Susan, and the guest speakers certainly did that—from a member of the famed Tuskegee Airmen to the two young men excelling in the NFL today.
Retired Master Sgt. Ezra M. Hill Sr., Pittsburgh Steelers’ defensive back B.W. Webb and running back Jonathan Grimes of the Houston Texans were the featured speakers at a program at the church. A fourth, unscheduled speaker was Scorpio Brown of Newport News, a former Arena Football wide receiver for the Harrisburg Stampede and now an assistant coach at Warwick High School.
The program was sponsored jointly by the Men’s and Youth Ministries of Antioch and a number of youngsters were on hand. Youth Ministry members Davon Garrett and Tabias Fisher gave the opening prayer and welcome.
