Anthony Franz, 68, of Port Haywood, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2018.

He was a retired sergeant with the U.S. Army. He was a very caring and loving person, and was dedicated to his family.

Tony was preceded in death by Henry and Henrietta Schatzberg, who raised him as a child. He is survived by his wife, Amy Franz; son, Michael; brother, Mike Schatzberg (Barbara); nieces, and nephews, Danielle Parker, Michael Schatzberg (Rekha), Tracy Stamm (Matt), Tammy Schatzberg and Brian Schatzberg (Michelle); great-nephews and -niece, Tyler Parker, Ryan Schatzberg, and Zachary and Madison Stamm.

A private family burial will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
