ANNIE LEE JAMES LEIGH

Annie Lee James Leigh, 87, of Gloucester, Va., passed away on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012.

She was born in King William County and was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Walker James and Cassie G. James; her beloved husband of 45 years, Edward V. Leigh; her sister, Margaret Mitchell, and a brother, Joe James.

Annie was a homemaker and was a long-time and active member of Bellamy United Methodist Church, Gloucester.

She lived a life of kindness, always with a smile on her face and joy in her heart. She was never a judgmental person, she accepted and loved each person as they were, a good example for all. She was well loved and will be missed by many on this side but greeted by love by many on the other side.

She is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Margaret Ann Sutton and Bobby, Wonza Walton and Dennis, and Kathy Dency and Joe; nine grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

The family received friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012, from 6:30-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, at 11 a.m. in Bellamy United Methodist Church by the Rev. Kenneth Waclo. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family requests that memorial donations may be made to either Bellamy United Methodist Church Building Fund, Relay for Life, or an organization of your choice.

To each one that lifted up Annie and family in prayer, sent a card, called, stopped to inquire of her well-being, visited, sent flowers and food, our sincere thank you and blessing to you. To Dr. Christian Wathen, Dr. Ronald Haggerty, Walter Reed Hospital staff, Sanders Convalescent Center staff, Gloucester Pharmacy staff, Riverside Hospice staff, and her health-care helpers, Phyllis Pierce, Kelly Lynch, and Della Garrett. Your concern, guidance and care was valued and appreciated, thank you.
