Anne Lewis Edwards, 71, of Hayes, died May 4, 2016 at her home.
She was born May 21, 1944 in Richmond, Va., to Robert Lee Lewis and Virginia P. Lewis, preceding her in death. Anne attended James Madison College, was a graduate of Pan American Business School, and was a professional legal secretary.
She was a member of Abingdon Episcopal Church, the Altar Guild, and prepared the Men’s Club dinners for 18 years. Anne was a member of the Ware River Circle of The King’s Daughters and Sons. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining, traveling through the Virgin Islands and was a lover of animals.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 50 years, Jerry Edwards; sister, Virginia Lee Groves; niece, Beth Ann Bonds; and sisters-in-law, Kay Riley and Fay Mull.
A funeral service conducted by the Rev. Sven vanBaars was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2016, at Abingdon Episcopal Church. Interment followed in Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery. The family received friends Friday, May 6, 2016, from 7-8:30 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point.
