Anne Elizabeth Rowe, 95, a 30-year resident of Gloucester, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 23, 2018, after a brief stay at Heron Cove Rehabilitation in Gloucester Court House.

She was born Dec. 29, 1922 in Schuyler. She was a graduate of Morrison High School in Newport News. Aside from a few brief years of employment as Office Manager for Southern Colorprint Corporation in Newport News, she was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Harvey B. Rowe Sr., who died Nov. 13, 2013. She is survived by her three children: Diane Malone of Harcum, Brenda Andreoli of Terra Ceia, North Carolina, and Harvey Rowe Jr. and his wife Trish of Harcum. The immediate family also includes six grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. 

Elizabeth was a faithful member of Union Baptist Church in Hayes. She was also a member, for over 60 years, of Warwick Chapter 43 of the Order of The Eastern Star, where she served for a period of time as Worthy Matron.

The family received friends on Saturday, Dec. 29 at noon in the worship center at Union Baptist Church, 9254 Guinea Road in Hayes. A Celebration of Life followed immediately at 1 p.m. Dr. Rodney Autry and the Rev. Harvey Rowe Jr. conducted the service. All guests were invited to a fellowship luncheon, generously provided by the Union Baptist Church family, which was at the church’s Union Hall, immediately following the service. 

There was a private graveside service for the family at Ebenezer Cemetery on Harcum Road.
