Helen “Ann” Egan Barrack, 82, of Hartfield, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2025. She was born in Altoona, Pennsylvania, and was the daughter of the late Jean Elizabeth and Vincent Eugene Cox. She was retired from the Gazette-Journal where she was the secretary for John Warren Cooke and then worked as the Circulation Manager during the end of her tenure. She was a longtime member of Beulah Baptist Church, Ware Neck.

She is survived by her husband, Edward Roland Barrack, and her children, Stephen E. Caton (Kendall), Deborah J. Caton (Robert); her stepdaughter, Shelly M. Johnson (Darrell); sister, Lucy J. Dyke (Lee), and grandchildren, Emily Crawford (Jack), Alexis Caton, Brett Kennedy (Janie Towler), Emagin Johnson and Ethan Johnson; great-grandchildren, Blair Crawford, Mia Wilson and Cash Crawford.

A service was held on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025, at Beulah Baptist Church in Ware Neck.

The family would like to give special thanks to the Riverside Hospice Team and the “girls” who worked in-home to care for Ann.
