Helen “Ann” Egan Barrack, 82, of Hartfield, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2025. She was born in Altoona, Pennsylvania, and was the daughter of the late Jean Elizabeth and Vincent Eugene Cox. She was retired from the Gazette-Journal where she was the secretary for John Warren Cooke and then worked as the Circulation Manager during the end of her tenure. She was a long-time member of Beulah Baptist Church, Ware Neck.
She is survived by her husband, Edward Roland Barrack, and her children Stephen E. Caton (Kendall), Deborah J. Caton (Robert), and her stepdaughter Shelly M. Johnson (Darrell), sister Lucy J. Dyke (Lee), and grandchildren, Emily Crawford (Jack), Alexis Caton, Brett Kennedy (Janie Towler), Emagin Johnson and Ethan Johnson, great grandchildren Blair Crawford, Mia Wilson and Cash Crawford.
A service will be held Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025, at Beulah Baptist Church in Ware Neck. The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. until noon. A service and interment will follow. A reception is being hosted at the church following the service.
The family would like to give special thanks to the Riverside Hospice Team and the “girls” who worked in home to care for Ann.
