On Friday, March 28, 2014 our angel, Angela Lorraine West, 38, of Hayes, departed this life to meet her heavenly Father.

Angela has fought a long hard battle that is now over. No more sorrow, pain or tears, but rejoicing in heaven because a new angel has appeared. She loved music and poetry.

Angela was preceded in death by her father, Alfred Vernon West Sr.; brother, Alfred Vernon West Jr.; sister, Frances Darlene West; grandparents, Willie Jenkins Sr. and Warner and Mamie West, and great-grandparents, Ronald and Susie Baker.

She is survived by her mother, Wilma Lee West; fiancé, Daniel Glenn Dedmon; his sons, Daniel Weaver and Shauwn Weaver; sister, Crystal West and husband Mervin Mitchem and their son, Zachary Mitchem; grandmother, Uldine Jenkins; nieces, Elizabeth Ashley Corbett and daughter, Madison Register and Jennifer Lynn Corbett, and a nephew, Joseph Glenn Doster Jr.

A funeral service conducted by the Rev. Wendell Gaffney and the Rev. Ken Cramer will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2014, at New Life Ministry Center, Hayes. Interment will follow in Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. At other times the family will be at the home of Wilma West.
