An Enchanted Forest

The Enchanted Forest in Warsaw offers a winding path through mature woods marked by whimsical tree carvings that represent everything from a shy, sleepy fawn to a scheming Grinch, a perplexed minion, and a somewhat grumpy-looking fairy. Created by Warsaw resident Tom Rhodes beginning in 1986, the charmed creature-laden pathway snakes through 11.4 acres of wooded land at 211 Wallace Street, not far from the Rappahannock Community College campus, with nearly 100 carvings along the way. There is no charge to visit the forest any day and any time between dawn and dusk. The only thing that marks the site is a carving of the Wood Spirit, along with a drawing showing where the trails are.
