Amy Samantha Crowder, age 38, of Hayes, died at her home on Saturday, August 5, 2023, surrounded by her family and loved ones after a long battle with cancer. She was a lifelong resident of Gloucester and graduated from Gloucester High School class of 2002. Amy enjoyed a career in caring for others as a nurse’s aide and always had a smile on her face and a kind word for patients and co-workers. A loving and kind mother to her beautiful children, Mallorie and Jake, who will miss her. Mother, Theresa D. Crowder; sister, Jenna D. Crowder; grandparents, Bernard F. and Frances M. Setterholm, Howard J. and Joyce A. Jenkins; uncles, Bernard F. Setterholm Jr., Jerry D. Crowder, and aunt, Judy A. Warren, preceded her in death. Survivors include children, Mallorie Alexus Coates and Sammie Jake Coates; special love, Jason Coates; father, Raymond “Motie” E. Crowder III; aunts, Betsy S. Jenkins, Teresa Setterholm; uncles, Lane Jenkins, Richard W. Setterholm, and a host of extended family. The family will receive friends at Hogg Funeral Home on Friday, August 11, 2023, from 6-6:45 p.m. with a service to begin at 7 o’clock in the chapel conducted by Pastor Michael Condrey. The inurnment will be private.
