Approximately 40 local nonprofits that serve Gloucester and Mathews are expected to take part in the 2015 Amazing Raise, which will be held from 6 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16 until 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 17.

The two-day online giving event is hosted by The Community Foundation Serving Richmond and Central Virginia and its regional affiliates, including the Gloucester Community Foundation and Mathews Community Foundation.

Last year’s event raised nearly $60,000 for organizations serving Gloucester and Mathews in just 36 hours. This year’s goal is to bring in $100,000 into Gloucester nonprofits alone.

In addition, when participants give during The Amazing Raise, they can help their favorite nonprofits win additional incentive prizes ranging from $500 to $15,000.
