The Amazing Raise, a web-based fundraising event sponsored by the Richmond Community Foundation, will be held from 6 a.m. next Wednesday, Sept. 18, through 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19.

The 36-hour region-wide competitive effort is designed to give people who can’t afford to donate large amounts of money a chance to help make a difference for a favorite non-profit organization. More than 30 Gloucester and Mathews organizations are among those taking part.

Prospective donors visit the website www.donaterichmond.org during the designated hours, select their preferred organization from a list, and use a credit card to donate.

Not only do the competing organizations receive the donations, but their involvement in the fundraiser also makes them eligible to win prizes based on the number of people who donate to their cause.
