Alvin Narron Jr. of Hayes, passed away on Dec. 12, 2018 at Walter Reed Convalescent Center. He was 91.

He retired from Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company in 1990.

Alvin spent his retirement years working with wood, building furniture, going out to eat, and traveling locally with his friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Ollie M. Narron; his brother, James Narron, and his mother, Nadel Potter.

He is survived by his son, Michael Narron (Donna); daughter, Nancy Minton, and daughter, Bobbi Drexler (Jody). He also leaves behind five grandchildren, Jack Narron, Roger Minton, Mark Minton, Nikki Narron, and J. Drexler, and eight great-grandchildren.
