Alumni rowers get tour of boathouse project

Past and current Mathews and Mobjack rowers returning to Williams Wharf for last Thursday’s 21st annual Mobjack Rowing Association Christmas Eve Row were greeted with a surprise, as MRA coach Tim Ulsaker gave them a tour of the facility with a new south floating dock, more than 100 feet of replaced western shore bulkheading, a 10’x100’ fishing dock and more than 100 concrete pilings in place for the long-awaited new boathouse.

A total of 44 alumni, masters rowers and current MHS/MRA members attended the annual event at the East River facility.

“This phase took over $980,000 to get to this point and that added to the completion of the boathouse would approach a total of $5 million,” Ulsaker told them of the current ongoing work.
