A funeral service for Alonza W. Olivis, 94, of Gloucester, was held Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020, in Howard Funeral Home Chapel, Ark. He died Dec. 29, 2019.
He was a United States Army veteran of World War II, a member of VFW Post 8252, and a retiree from the Naval Weapons Station.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Verna King Olivis; son, Michael Olivis; daughter, Janice Brooks; sisters, Clara Evans, Bernice Hopson and Christine Taylor; four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Entombment with military honors was in Windsor Gardens Cemetery and Mausoleum, Dutton.
