Allen William Robins Sr., 82, of Gloucester, was called home to the Kingdom of Heaven on Friday, July 4, 2025. Allen was born and raised in Gloucester County. He married the love of his life, Laurel, at Oak Grove Christian Church, Bohannon (Mathews County), and brought her home to Gloucester. He built a home for his family on the same lane he grew up on, Robins Road. He proudly served his country in the Army Reserve. Allen worked hard his whole life to provide for his family. He retired from Anheuser-Busch after many years of employment with the company. Allen enjoyed golfing, working in his yard, traveling with his wife, and watching football. His faith in God and trust in the Bible helped guide his life and blessed him greatly. Allen will be remembered for his unwavering integrity and love for his family and friends. Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary Robins; his wife of 60 years, Laurel Anderton Robins, and his beloved daughter, Sharyn G. Robins. He is survived by his son, Allen W. “Robi” Robins Jr.; grandchildren, McKenzie Zember (Logan) and Sarah Hunter (Austin); great-grandchildren, Brandon Hunter, Jeffrey Hunter, Cameron Zember, and a host of extended family. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Providence Cemetery, Cardinal, Mathews County, Virginia 23025. Memorial contributions may be made to Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue at GVFRS, P.O. Box 1417, Gloucester, Va. 23061. The family extends sincere appreciation to RWRH ED staff, RRMC MICU/CCU staff, and to Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue squads.
