Allan Herbert Jodrey, 99, peacefully passed away on Monday, February 9, 2026, at home in Hayes, Va. He is survived by his daughter, Janet Roberts (spouse Steve), and his son, David Jodrey (spouse Brenda). He was predeceased by his wife, Mildred Carol Jodrey, and his daughter, Patricia Dale Leupen.
Allan was born in Worchester, Mass., on January 6, 1927 to Wallace Ward Jodrey and Myrtle Frances Jodrey. He graduated from Bucknell University and went on to serve in USAID in Iran, Nigeria, Ethiopia and Sudan. Upon returning to the U.S. in 1966, he lived in Beltsville, Md., and worked for the U.S. Government Office of Management and Budget as a Financial Management Officer until his retirement at 62. He and Millie moved to White Stone, Va., living on the water of the Chesapeake Bay where he enjoyed fishing and crabbing. He also volunteered as a novice archaeologist participating in numerous digs throughout the country. Additionally, he enjoyed telling exciting stories of his escapades to his 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at the Currie Funeral Home in Kilmarnock, Va., on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 5 p.m. His burial will be at Maryland National Memorial Park in Laurel, Md., on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 2 p.m.
