ALICE JEAN DEAGLE WESLEY

Alice Jean Deagle Wesley of Richmond, at the age of 84, peacefully answered the Lord’s call home on April 10, 2016 after a short illness.

Jean was met in heaven by her husband, Richard P. Wesley, and her parents, Otha and Alice Deagle.

She is survived by her beloved son, Edward L. Wesley of Richmond; brothers, Langley Deagle (Janet) of Mathews, James Deagle (Juanita) of Newport News, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jean was born in Mathews, Va., on June 26, 1931. She moved to Richmond in 1948 where she attended Johnston-Willis School of Nursing. After graduation, she was employed at Johnston-Willis in the ICU until her retirement in 1994.

Jean was an active member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Oilville, Va. She also enjoyed quarterly meetings with her Mathews High School graduating class of 1948.

The family received friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Avenue. A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, at Bethel United Methodist Church, Oilville. Interment in Hollywood Cemetery followed at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Bethel United Methodist Church Building Fund.
