A funeral for Alice J. Williams, 100, of Achilles, was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 31, in Union Baptist Church, Hayes. She died March 27, 2018.

She was a lifelong Gloucester County resident and the oldest living member of Union Baptist Church, where she served in women’s ministries, Vacation Bible School, and taught Sunday school for over 57 years. 

She was preceded in death by husband, Elbert Williams; parents, Philmore and Daisy Brown, and sister, Elizabeth Haywood.

Survivors include her daughter, Esther Mae Belvin; sons, Bruce Williams and Paul Arthur Williams, four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

The service was conducted by the Rev. Richard Whiteheart. Interment followed in Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery.
