Alfred J. (Al) Schick of Cardinal, Mathews County, passed peacefully on Saturday morning, July 26, 2025. Al, a retired RCA engineer, served in the U.S. Air Force then graduated from University of Tennessee through the G.I. Bill program. Al and his wife Judy (deceased) migrated to River Country in 2000 from Indianapolis. They operated a small business, Tidewater Travel, providing travel assistance to many in our community. He is survived by his brother, Ray; children, Matthew, Heather, Angela, Julie and A.J.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, and friends. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 8 from 5-6:30 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home, 3098 George Washington Memorial Highway, Hayes, Va. 23072, followed by interment at Windsor Gardens Cemetery & Mausoleum, 80 Soles Lane, Dutton, Va. 23050.
