Albert Jerome Hesson Sr. of Glen Allen, Va., went to be with his Heavenly Father May 1, 2012.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Marks Hesson; parents, John Alexander and Dundee Martin Hesson; sister, Ruth Hesson, and brothers, John, Ralph and Warren Hesson.

Albert was retired from the C&O Railroad with 40 years of service.

He is survived by his son, Albert Jerome Hesson Jr. "Jerry" and wife Jean Hesson of Gwynn’s Island, Va.; daughter, Pam Horner of Glen Allen; brother, Julian Hesson of Gladstone, Va.; three grandchildren, Scott and Mark Horner of Glen Allen, and Arnold Hesson of Gwynn’s Island; great-grandson, Austin Garrett Hesson; great-granddaughter, Brittany of Mathews, Va., and his nieces and nephews.

The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Bliley’s Staples Mill, 8510 Staples Mill Road, Richmond, and where memorial services were held at 7 p.m.
