‘Aladdin Jr.’ to be held Saturday, Sunday

The Moose Family Center will present an all-youth production of “Disney’s Aladdin Jr.” this Saturday and Sunday, March 18 and 19, at the Gloucester Moose Lodge.

The show is about the title character and his three friends, Babkak, Omar and Kassim, who are down on their luck until Aladdin discovers a magic lamp and the Genie who has the power to grant three wishes. Wanting to earn the respect of Princess Jasmine, Aladdin embarks on an adventure that will test his will and moral character.

This production is a fundraiser for the GUEST program. Baskets will be raffled off at each show. Local businesses have donated gift certificates to these baskets, including Ace Hardware, Applebee’s, The Bay School Community Arts Center, Bubba’s Shrimp Shack, Chick-fil-A of Gloucester, The Courthouse Restaurant, Eggheads Diner, Jersey Mike’s Subs, Juan’s Mexican Café and Cantina, Kelsick Market, Little Italy Restaurant, Lulu Birds Kitchen, Mobjack Tavern, Nick’s Spaghetti and Steak House, Northern Neck Popcorn Bag, Papa John’s Pizza, Patriots Grill, Roane’s Antiques, Ruby Tuesday, Sal’s Pizzeria and Restaurant, The Seafood Shack, Slammin’ Sammy’s, Sport Clips of Gloucester, Tony and Milena’s Pizzeria and Restaurant, and YRC Cinemas.

All proceeds for the baskets will benefit GUEST. Raffle tickets for the baskets are $1 apiece, $5 for seven tickets and $10 for 15 tickets.
The shows will be held on Saturday, March 18 at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Sunday, March 19 at 3 p.m. Tickets for the show are $10 for adults and $5 for children and students.
