Singer, songwriter, and now recording artist Akeylah Simone will perform at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Flat Iron Crossroads in Gloucester.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with Shore Bites Food Truck as the evening’s food vendor.

Simone fuses genres of rock, hip hop, R&B, and jazz in an eclectic set of original music, said a press release. Her sultry, soulful vocals are effective in keeping her audience engaged. In her first year of releasing original music, she landed four songs on the 2021/22 Grammy ballot and was voted Encore’s 2021 Best Solo Artist. Most recently, she was voted ISSA’s Female Rising Star and Veer Magazine’s 2022 Best R&B/Soul Artist.

Over the past 10 years, Simone has performed on many stages with her dad, Bobby BlackHat.
