The Gloucester Genealogical Society of Virginia will meet at 10 a.m. Monday in the Community Room of Gloucester Library, Main Street Center. This month’s program will be “AI and Genealogy—Finding Your Needles in the Haystack,” presented by Karen McPherson. McPherson will share with the group how new Artificial Intelligence tools can transform genealogical research. She will talk about how full-text search at FamilySearch.org and emerging features at Ancestry.com—along with tools like ChatGPT—can help search, transcribe and interpret historical records, while still applying sound research judgment. McPherson retired in 2012 after a 25-year career as a high school history and government teacher and dove almost immediately into researching her family history.
