AGNES NEILE GREENE

Agnes Neile Greene, 67, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018, at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital after a brave and extensive battle with cancer.

Neile, as everyone knew her, was born in Whiteville, North Carolina, in 1951 and spent over the last 50 years of her life as a resident of Gloucester County. Neile worked for Riverside Health System as a transcriptionist for many years until her retirement in 2016.

Neile’s greatest joys were her children and grandchildren, and she had a wealth of other family members and close friends. Neile was very creative and loved to spend her free time crafting with friends, learning about new techniques in papercrafting, and making handmade gifts for loved ones.

Neile was preceded in death by her parents, Wayland and Claudia Rhodes. She is survived her by husband Dennis Greene and her daughters, Heather Kelley and James and Carrie Greene Moon; her grandchildren, Heath Kelley, Jordan Kelley, and Ashlyn Moon; sisters, Alice Faye Rhodes and Charles, Sharon Kneece and David; nieces Jennifer Day and Kaitlyn Kneece, and nephew, Josh Kneece. She is also survived by her lifelong “bestest friend” Eva Tillage, as well as many more friends and loved ones.

The family would like to give a very special thank you to the Peninsula Cancer Institute for the exquisite care and home health she received during her fight. The doctors, nurses and staff were a true blessing and expressed love and care for her that was unparalleled.

The family received friends at a celebration of life fellowship at Grace Bible Church in Ark on Monday, Oct. 29, 2018, from l0-ll a.m., with the service following at 11 o’clock. Burial followed the service in the church cemetery.

Andrews Funeral Home and Crematory was in charge of the arrangements.
