AGNES CHRISSIE HENDRIX

Agnes Chrissie Hendrix of Gloucester passed away Dec. 16, 2015.

She was born in Montreal, Canada, on May 12, 1938 and grew up in Leven, Scotland. She married and started her family in Montreal, Canada, moved to Staten Island New York, and became a U.S. citizen. 

Agnes had been a resident of Gloucester since 1975 and a member of St. Therese Roman Catholic Church. She worked and retired from Colonial Williamsburg in 2007 after 25 years with lodging and dining services. 

She was most proud of her family, especially her grandchildren whom she affectionately referred to as her darlings. She was a past PTA president, Cub Scout Den Mother, hockey mom and baseball mom. Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, William and Marie Elise Bloomfield.

She is survived by her sons, John Hendrix (Bernadette), Richard Hendrix and Douglas Hendrix (Arva); her grandchildren, John II, Matthew, Lindsay and Jade. 

A service of Christian Mass conducted by the Rev. James Cowles was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015, at St. Therese Catholic Church, Gloucester. Interment followed in Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery. The family received friends Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015, from 7-8:30 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point.
