Aeronautical group to meet Sept. 15

Deltaville resident David Clarke Peele, who retired with 4,000 fighter hours in the F-4, F-5 Aggressors and F-15 aircraft, will discuss his experiences in the air at a meeting of the Middle Peninsula-Northern Neck Chapter of the Virginia Aeronautical Society.

The luncheon meeting will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 15 at the Pilot House Restaurant, Topping.

Peele served in the U.S. Air Force as an Aggressor from 1979-1984, stationed at Nellis AFB in Nevada and Clark AB in the Philippines. Aggressors were American fighter pilots flying Mig tactics against U.S. fighter forces to prepare them for combat.

Peele subsequently logged 17,000 hours as a commercial pilot with Southwest Airlines from 1995-2017 in the Boeing 737 (200, 300, 700 and 800). He retired as a captain.

The chapter meets on the third Thursday of each month at 11:30 a.m. for lunch and a presentation of aviation programs. Everyone interested in aviation is invited to attend.
