ADA PHELPS LUGHART

Ada Phelps Lughart, 71, of Deltaville, died unexpectedly on Dec. 26, 2012 while vacationing with her husband in Orlando, Fla.

She was the daughter of the late Alvin and Elizabeth Bridges, and was preceded in death by her brothers, William and Harold Bridges.

Ada, affectionately known as “Meme,” was a kind and generous person, a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed traveling with her soul mate, Dick, and spending time with family and caring for her pets.

She is survived by her husband, Richard “Dick” Lughart; daughter, Teresa Nagy; three sons, Sidney Jr., Calvin and Jimmy Phelps; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Robbins; brother, Vernon Bridges; two sisters-in-law, A.J. and Carole, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services conducted by the Rev. Rita Staul were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, in the chapel of Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Interment followed in Bellamy UMC Memorial Cemetery. The family received friends Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, from 7-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
