Account of a lovely wedding 110 years ago

110 YEARS AGO

Thursday, Oct. 17, 1907

Captain Luther H. Foster and Miss Ruby Marchant were married on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at the Old Baptist Church by the Rev. W.A. Snyder. The bride was attired in a handsome brown travelling suit and the groom in the conventional black. A reception took place at the home of the bride’s parents the previous evening. They were the recipients of many handsome and costly presents. The bride is the handsome daughter of Captain L.D. Marchant and is a very pleasant and charming young lady and popular with all. The happy couple took the steamer at Williams Wharf immediately after the ceremony to spend their honeymoon in Florida. Both bride and groom are natives of Mathews.
