An accident on Buckley Hall Road near Mathews Town Center on Saturday left 395 customers without power for six hours.

Arthur Daniels, 56, of Moon, was driving a 2008 GMC Envoy toward the Court House around 11:30 a.m. when he ran off the road to the right and struck a utility pole, said Master Trooper J.K. Morris.

Daniels was taken by ambulance from the accident scene because of injuries he sustained, said Morris, adding that Daniels was properly restrained and there was no air bag deployment.

Speed and alcohol were not factors in the accident, said Morris, but Daniels was charged with reckless driving for texting while operating a vehicle and failure to maintain proper control. ...
