Absolute Mobility opens in Mathews

Absolute Mobility began June 1 in the strip center adjacent to Mathews Laundry on Buckley Hall Road, and held a grand opening on June 7 and 8.

Owner Dana Wainwright said she had operated the business from her residence in Gloucester for three years. Absolute Mobility previously was a mobile service.

Using the slogan “for all your accessibility needs,” Wainwright said they offer sales, installation and repair of all durable medical equipment and most medical supplies.

Wainwright’s husband, Charles Griffin, is the lead technician. In addition, she employs one other technician.

Among items the company sells are stair lifts, platform lifts, modular ramps, commercial ramps, bath and pool lifts and scooters. Also, Absolute Mobility stocks wheelchairs, accessories, custom products, and offers home modifications for the specialty equipment. Soon, she plans to add some rental equipment.
