Absentee voting begins Friday

Absentee voting for the Nov. 5 general election will begin tomorrow in both the Gloucester and Mathews voter registrar offices.

Absentee voting will be available during normal office hours during the week. Voter registrar offices will also be open for special hours on Saturdays, Oct. 26 and Nov. 2, for absentee voting.

The last day to register to vote or make changes to your name or address to be eligible to vote in the Nov. 5 election is Oct. 15 by 5 p.m. and the last day to request an absentee ballot by mail is Oct. 29. Bobbi Morgan, Gloucester’s voter registrar, urged voters not to wait until the last minute to request an absentee ballot if they qualify.
